Sharing files between Windows, Macintosh, and UNIX
workstations
Nitix acts as a central,
integrated file server, allowing a user on any kind
of workstation to share files with any other workstation.
Each user with an
account on a Nitix-powered server can have private space
for his or her personal files. Plus, you can create
special accounts called teams, and each member of a
team can access all the files belonging to that team.
Nitix supports CIFS/SMB
(Windows File Sharing), Appleshare IP (for Macintosh
systems), and NFS (for UNIX systems), and all the files
accessible from one type of computer are accessible
from all the others. If you want, you can also make
a user or team's files available using FTP or HTTP (web),
so it's easy to publish a web site.
Every user's files
can be automatically backed up as often as every 15
minutes, so nobody ever loses their work in case of
crashes or hardware failures.

and team accounts.
